What is laser assisted hatching ?

Laser assisted hatching is a technique by which the zona which is the outer covering of the egg and embryo is cut using a laser beam. This helps the embryo to implant faster on the uterus. 

Which patients need laser assisted hatching ?

1. Patients who have had a previous failed IVF cycle.

2. If the age of the patient going through IVF is more than 35 

3. Embryos will excessive fragmentation.

4. Patients with recurrent implantation failure

Does Laser assisted hatching Damage the embryo ?

In laser assisted hatching only the zona of the embryo will be hit and nothing will happen to the embryo.
